Privacy Policy

Your privacy isn’t an afterthought here — it’s built into how the tool works. Every calculation happens in your browser, and the dates you enter never reach us.

This policy explains exactly what is and isn’t collected, and the choices you have.

Our privacy-first promise

Age Difference Calculator is operated by Calcverse Labs LLC. This policy explains what we do — and mostly don’t — with your information when you use the Site.

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The birth dates and results you enter are never sent to our servers, never logged, and never stored. They exist only on your device while the page is open.

Your calculator inputs

When you type two dates and press Calculate, all of the math happens locally in JavaScript. Nothing about those dates is transmitted anywhere. Close or refresh the tab and the inputs are gone — we keep no copy, and there is no account to tie them to.

Because we never receive this data, we cannot read it, sell it, share it, or hand it over in response to a request.

Information we do collect

To keep the Site running and understand what’s useful, a limited amount of standard information may be collected automatically:

  • Usage analytics — aggregated, privacy-respecting statistics such as which pages are visited, approximate region, device type, and referring site. We use this to improve the tools, not to identify you.
  • Technical logs — our hosting provider may record standard server information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
  • Messages you send us — if you email us or use the contact form, we keep your message and address only to reply.

We do not run user accounts, newsletters, or profiles, so we hold no name or password for you.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies — for example, to remember your light/dark theme choice and to gather anonymous analytics. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time without losing access to the calculator.

Full details, including each category and how to opt out, are in our Cookie Policy.

Advertising

The Site may display advertising provided by third-party networks such as Google AdSense. These partners may use cookies or device identifiers to show relevant ads and measure performance. We do not share your calculator inputs with them — they never receive that data because we never have it. You can manage personalised advertising through Google Ad Settings and YourAdChoices.

How we use information

We use the limited information described above only to:

  • Operate, maintain, and secure the Site.
  • Understand aggregate usage so we can improve our calculators and guides.
  • Respond to messages you choose to send us.
  • Comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse.

We do not sell personal information, and we never have.

Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data — including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict its use, and to object to processing or request portability. Residents of California have the right to know what is collected and to opt out of any “sale” of personal information (we do not sell it).

Because we don’t hold accounts or your calculator inputs, most requests concern analytics or an email you sent us. To exercise any right, contact privacy@agedifference-calculator.org and we will respond within the timeframe required by law.

Data retention & security

We keep analytics data only as long as it is useful, then it is aggregated or deleted. Messages you send us are retained only as long as needed to help you. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited information we hold, though no method of transmission over the internet is ever completely secure.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

We operate from the United States. If you access the Site from elsewhere, any limited information collected may be processed in the U.S. or other countries with different data- protection laws. By using the Site you understand that this may occur.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices or the law evolve. The “last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
